Jason Lord was just like any man who lived in Chicago, until he donated for a good cause and got something so much better in return.
Lord has been meaning to propose to his girlfriend, Jackie Prater. Just before the dramatic event, Jason helped out a charity being run by the wife of Breaking Bad's star Aaron Paul.
Lauren Parsekian, Paul's wife co-founded Kind Campaign, which aims to build awareness on bullying through documentaries, school assemblies and more. Paul helps his wife out by making use of his fame and popularity to raise money and offer his time and efforts for extra services. Just for the series' finale of Breaking Bad alone, Paul was able to raise $1.8 Million with a roundtrip ticket prize to watch the final episode with the entire cast allotted for the winner.
After donating money to the cause, Lord was picked as a winner and as his prize, he will get a personalized message from Paul. With help from his friends, Lord planned the proposal carefully and was able to set up a band to play Mr. Big's "To Be With You", a song that has been an inside joke between Lord and his fiancé Prater when they were just starting off with their first few dates.
When the song was completed, a video message popped in front of Lord and Prater. Onscreen was the Breaking Bad star, starting off saying, "Hi Jackie, this is Aaron Paul. I hope all is well in Chicago. I just wanted to send you a message on behalf of my good friend Jason. I think you know him; who I understand has a very important question to ask you."
At this point, Lord positions himself on bended knee and asks Prater to marry him. Without hesitation and already in tears, she approves.
"Oh, I hope you said yes," the video of Paul continues. "If you didn't, it'd be pretty awkward for everyone involved. Good luck to you two."
