The year has almost come to an end and New Year's 2014 is almost here. There are some destinations that are perfect to ring in the New Year. To help travelers choose the perfect spot, Hotwire, a leading discount travel site, announced the top ten most popular destinations to ring in the New Year.
With snow storms and cold weather taking over the country, warm weather spots are popular this year for New Year's. Orlando is the most popular spot with Los Angeles, Miami and Las Vegas also on the list.
Orlando is the most popular spot again this year, followed by New York City and Las Vegas. Chicago dropped two spot to fourth and New Orleans jumped up five spots to fifth while San Francisco remains in sixth. San Diego moved up one spot to seventh, London fell down on spot to eighth, Los Amgeles stayed in ninth and Miami dropped five spots to tenth.
"New Year's Eve destinations like New York City and Chicago are naturally ever-popular, but the winter weather outlook is likely prompting many travelers to head south for some warmer weather celebrations," said Henrik Kjellberg, president of the Hotwire Group. "And more travelers should consider doing the same as many of these locales not only offer nicer weather, but also have travel costs that are below the more famous New Year's Eve destinations."
The 10 most popular New Year's destinations by hotel bookings, along with average nightly prices for each are as follows:
