There should be certain airplane etiquette rules that travelers should follow and according to Expedia, there are some behaviors that are more annoying than other.
Northstar conducted a survey on behalf of Expedia to find out how travelers feel about certain in-flight behaviors. The survey included responses from 1,001 adult Americans who listed things like seat-reclining, drinking and out-of-control kids among the most annoying behaviors.
"Planes are flying full, and the holiday season is traditionally hectic, so in-flight etiquette is at a premium," said John Morrey, vice president and general manager, Expedia.com. "Most of us, when we look at the list of offending behaviors, can admit to having committed one or more of the violations. So this season, perhaps we can all take care to be as friendly and accommodating to our fellow passengers as possible. After all, we're quite literally all in this together."
The survey found that "Inattentive Parents (41 percent), "Rear Seat Kickers" (39 percent) and "The Aromatic Passenger" (28 percent), are the worst parts about flying. Americans with children under 18 were slightly more sympathetic, ranking Rear Seat Kickers slightly higher, while Americans without children had less sympathy.
Of those surveyed, 63 percent said they're often annoyed by parents traveling with loud children and 49 percent of those would even pay extra to be seated in an area that is child-free. Most of them, 59 percent, included Americans aged 34 and under.
