Teen Dies on Board Atlanta-Bound Delta Air Plane, Diverts Flight to Washington

An Atlanta-bound Delta Air Lines plane was diverted to Washington following the death of a teen on board, USA TODAY reported Saturday.

According to the report, a Delta Air Lines plane from Seattle heading to Atlanta was diverted from its flight to Spokane International Airport following the death of a 16-year-old boy on board.

The said teen allegedly suffered from a medical emergency situation Saturday morning while still on board Flight 128, and he suddenly passed away due to natural causes, Airport Spokesman Todd Woodard said.

Meanwhile, Delta spokesman Michael Thomas confirmed the death of the still unnamed teen, adding that the 258 passengers on the Boeing 767 were requested to exit the aircraft when they landed at Spokane.

Many passengers were rebooked for them to quickly reach their destinations while some were requested for further updates if they can fly on the same day.

USA TODAY reported that Delta agreed to fly in another crew afternoon of the same day just so they can fly the remaining passengers to Atlanta as fast as possible.
