Oceania Cruises has confirmed its plan to spend $50 million for the upgrade of its three smallest vessels namely, Nautica, Insignia, and Regatta, USA Today reported Thursday.
The renovations on the 684-passenger ships are expected to commence during the second quarter of 2014.
According to Oceania Cruises the upgrade will cover the new decor to the staterooms of the vessels as well as the extensive changes on their suites. Other areas that will undergo major transformations in the said ships include their bars, lounges and pool decks. Additionally, mini-golf courses, shuffleboard courts and deck games will be added to their sports decks.
All three vessels will also incorporate certain elements from Oceania Cruises' newer ships such as a specialty coffee bar and a highly upgraded grill.
Oceania Cruises project the debut of their upgraded ships within the second quarter of 2014. The upgraded Insignia is to go on a seven-day sailing in Barcelona starting May 8, 2014 while the new Nautica is to debut through a 10-day cruise from May 16 in Civitavecchia, Italy. On the other hand, a much improved Regatta is to welcome its passengers for a 10-day Vancouver-to-Alaska trip from June 7.
