A Hollywood actor is accusing the US Airways flight crew of racism after they stopped serving him alcohol. Brandon T. Jackson, "Tropic Thunder" and "Fast and Furious" star went on a tirade on Twitter following the incident.
Jackson, 29, was not happy when the flight attendants started telling him what to do. Jackson had been drinking on his New York City to Phoenix flight and he was not happy when they stopped serving him alcohol, KHPO reports. He took to Twitter to let everyone know about it. He started his rant saying, "US AIRWAYS their so racist they said I don't care if you're Obama's son get in your seat!! Flight 629 flight attendant "DEE" please help !!!!"
"Blogs please help me pick this up they called me the N-word and said I don't care if your Obama son us airways flight 629 attendant dee," he continued.
Jackson would not sit down when asked and he refused to turn down his loud music. He continued to act out of control. Police were called during the flight due to Jackson's disruptive behavior and they escorted him off the plane when it arrived in Phoenix. He was questioned by police. He was supposed to catch a connecting flight to Phoenix but police would not allow him to fly, so he had an unexpected layover in Phoenix. He was escorted out of the terminal following the incident.
US Airways denies Jackson's claims that racial slurs were used against him on board. The airline released a statement to KPHO, saying "We've spoken with the crewmembers involved and they deny any use of the N word or racist slurs with Mr. Jackson. Customer was disruptive and our crew made the right decision to stop serving him alcohol...this is in line with federal regulations and our policies. US Airways fully supports the actions of the crew in this situation. Bad behavior is never tolerated onboard - by anyone. Our crews' main mission is to maintain a safe operation while in the air and they do it well. The disruptive behavior started with loud music being played by Mr. Jackson at his seat. He was asked several times to turn down the music. Additional erratic behavior was observed and that is when the crew made the decision to stop serving. If the crew determines to no longer serve alcohol to a customer, then their decision is definitive at that point. This is really a case of a customer creating a disruption onboard and our crew responding appropriately."
Police determined that no crime was committed and Jackson was not charged. Jackson ended his rant by thanking his fans for support, saying "Going to sleep what a whack day joy comes in the morning!!! God bless guys thanks for the support ...guys."
