There are hundreds of cruises to choose from when booking a cruise vacation. However some might be better than others. Cruise Critic, the world's largest cruise reviews site, has made the choice a little easier by releasing its 2013 Editors' Picks Awards in which they name some of the best cruise lines, ships and ports in 18 categories.
Cruise Critics have chosen the best of the best in this year's Editors' Picks Awards.
"Over the past year, our editors have covered every major ocean and river cruise line in the world -- around 75 cruise lines, representing more than 400 ships," explains Carolyn Spencer Brown, editor-in-chief of Cruise Critic. "Choosing the best out of that list is always a tough task; there are so many fantastic offerings available, and lines are constantly improving their products. Taking all of this into account, this list represents the ships and lines that we feel have gone above and beyond this year."
The Best New Ship Award goes to Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Cruise Line's New York-themed ship after its April 2013 debut. The ship is notable due to its state-of-the-art sports complex and variety of dining options.
The Best Entertainment award goes to Royal Caribbean Cruise Line for the third year in a row. The ship hosts many Broadway productions like "Hairspray" and "Chicago," ice skating productions and aerial shows.
Disney Cruise Line picked up two awards including Best for Families and Best Shore Excursions . Oceania Cruises claimed the Best Dining award for the second consecutive year. Azamara Club Cruises won Best Value-for-Money for its inclusive offerings and Viking Cruises took Best River Cruise Line for the second year in a row.
