There is a lot of pink in Las Vegas during the month of October in celebration and support of Breast Cancer Awareness, according to USA Today.
Visitors can participate in supporting pink in Las Vegas by shopping at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets Pink Event at one of the shopping centers on the strip. There are two centers, located at the north and south ends of the popular Las Vegas strip, and during October, the outlets partner with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to support cancer outreach and research. With a $10 donation, shoppers will receive a card for 25 percent off of a single item from one of the shopping centers many stores, which include popular brands like Calvin Klein and Theory.
Another way to participate is to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe, which celebrates with Pinktober as part of Hard Rock International's annual global campaign to fight breast cancer. Guests are encouraged to attend live concerts or purchase Pinktober gear. The proceeds from the events and merchandise benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and other local breast cancer charities.
In addition to the cafe, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has it's own program. They offer specials throughout the property to raise funds for the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), which is an organization dedicated to helping young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
There are many food options, such as the Pink Taco, as well as "Save 2nd Base," cookies sold by Fuel Cafe Express, which also benefit the YSC. The Reliquary Water Sanctuary, Spa & Salon donates $25 from the purchase of treatments including the Harmonic Massage and the Nirvana Facial to the YSC.
There are myriad options for travelers and local residents alike to enjoy what Las Vegas has to offer and still make a contribution to support breast cancer research.
