Jimmy Kimmel and Kanye West have begun a Twitter feud, though it's unclear if they are actually angry or if it's an elaborate hoax, according to FOX News.
West released a rant on Twitter about a skit Kimmel performed on his show that spoofed n interview that West had done on BBC Radio 1. In the skit, children read a transcript of West's interview.
On Kimmel's Thursday show, he devoted his opening monologue to discussing a "very angry phone call" that he had received from West prior to taping the show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live," which airs on ABC. According to Kimmel, West called him to complain about the skit. West wanted a public apology.
Kimmel then cited tweets that West had posted.
"Sarah Silverman is a thousand times funnier than you and the whole world knows it!!!" West tweeted, referring to Kimmel's ex-girlfriend.
"Jimmy Kimmel is out of line to try and spoof in any way the first piece of honest media in years," West wrote.
"You can't put yourself in my shoes," he continued. "Your face looks crazy...Is that funny? Or if I had a kid say it would be funny???"
Many are speculating this it's a hoax following the elaborate hoax Kimmel recently did, when he worked with a stuntwoman to create a YouTube video that showed a girl twerking. She then gets knocked over when someone opens the door and crashes into a table, lighting herself on fire. The video went viral, with many media outlets reporting it, unaware that it was fake.
Kimmel assured his Twitter followers that the exchange wasn't a joke.
"I'll tell you the whole story about Kanye West tonight on the show - this is not a prank, I promise (unless it's being played on me)," Kimmel tweeted.
Requests for comment from representatives for both Kimmel and West went unanswered.
This isn't the first time Kimmel has made fun of Kanye West on his show. In 2011, singer Josh Groban performed "Kanye Wests Tweet's" on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
