Want to eat on the toilet? You can in public. Taiyuan, China is the latest city to get a toilet-themed restaurant.
The latest loo eatery opened at the end of August. The theme restaurant offers standard. noodle, meat and veggie dishes, but it also offers toilet-themed treats like brown, curly soft serve ice cream, the Daily Mail reports.
Every meal comes in toilet-like dishes like bidets and toilets. The ice cream comes in little cups which have plumbing handles for diners to hold their cup as they eat.
The restaurant itself looks like a bathroom of course. It has showers attached to the walls and the seats are toilets which have special cushions in the shape of piles of poo.
This isn't the first toilet-themed restaurant in the country. There are others in Chonqing, Shanghai, Kunming and there are other in Korea and Japan.
Beijing's toilet restaurant is called Pian pian man wu or "House full of poo." That restaurant has an extensive menu with items such as their signature "super constipation black dry s***" ice cream which is topped with red beans and sprinkles and comes in a mini toilet.
It is a bit ironic for China to have toilet restaurants considering some eateries in China don't have a real toilet and customers must use pubic lavatories outside on the streets.
There also aren't many seated toilets in China due to a hygienic preference for squatting. There is actually a rule in Beijing that says only two flies can be in a public toilet at one time.
Toilet restaurants aren't the only theme restaurant in Beijing. The city also had a Kung-fu restaurant where waiters perform martial arts as they deliver meals. There is also a Hello Kitty restaurant and an Eighties schoolroom restaurant where guests must show an ID that shows that they've been to school within the last decade.
