Taiwanese airline, EVA Air will bring its Hello Kitty Plane to the states. On September 18 the airline will bring the Hello Kitty route from Taipei to Los Angeles and flights will operate three times per week.
"The Hello Kitty B777 jets that will fly to Los Angeles are still being prepared, but the airline confirms they'll look similar to the ones already operating in Asia," reported The Huffington Post.
The planes have Hello Kitty pillows, snack bags, head rests and luggage tags as well as Hello Kitty in flight meals.
"EVA Air began launching the Hello Kitty planes in October 2011 for use primarily on routes to Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and the U.S. territory of Guam, on which they have proved popular," reported Focus Taiwan.
Before this, the Taiwanese airliner operates between Taipei, Europe, America and the rest of Asia.
"The passengers over the world love the Hello Kitty jets since launched -- All the Hello Kitty jets have over 85 to 90 percent occupancy," said Liwen Liu PR officer of Evergreen Group, the parent company of EVA Airways to the UK's Daily Mail.
K.W. Nieh, the carriers group executive officer for public relations said that the themed planes aren't just for the kids. "We fly Hello Kitty jets to cities all over Japan, as well as to Korea, Shanghai, and Guam. Business and leisure travelers both go to all of these destinations," he said to Bloomberg Business Week.
EVA Airways is in further talks with Hello Kitty company, Sanrio, to possibly launch two more planes. The planes are not the only things outfitted with kitty garb--check in stations, soap dispensers, utensils and paper cups are also themed with the "kawaii" character.
At Taipei's Taoyuan International Airport, passengers also receive a Hello Kitty boarding pass and baggage tags. Upon entering the plane a Hello Kitty song is played and the all-female cabin crew wear pink Hello Kitty aprons and scarves.
