Good Samaritan Pays the Baggage Fee for a Traveler After His Credit Card is Declined at Tampa Airport

Having your credit card declined is an unpleasant experience, and having it declined at the airport just makes it worse, which a traveler at Tampa airport recently found out. However, after this recently happened to a Reddit user, he found someone had paid his bag fee.

Reddit user brbmycatexploded was traveling, and after his credit card was declined, he stepped out of line to check his credit card balance. When he returned, he found that his baggage fee had already been paid, and the Good Samaritan had left a note explaining they had paid the fee and knew how it felt.

"My card was declined in the Tampa airport the other day," brbmycatexploded wrote. "Stepped out of line to check my balance, and when I came back this was waiting for me.

"If you're reading this, thanks for making my day," he continued.

When the user posted his story to Reddit, it received many responses.

"I was given free tickets to three shows in a row one summer...all from random people," a user wrote in reply. "Music really helped drag me out of my depression.

"Whenever I go to a show now, I always buy an extra," they continued.

Another user posted about their experience in a convenience store. They were in line at 3 a.m. behind a man with diapers, milk and canned food. The man didn't have enough money to pay for the items.

"So I walk up to the counter and give the guy $20,"user ThatSpuds wrote. "I don't say a word, and I don't expect anything in return, not even a thank you.

"But the guy turns around," he continued. Gets on his knees and wraps his arms around me and tells me that I have just made a profound difference."

The note that brbmycatexploded received asked him to pay the gesture forward, and another user asked him how he planned to do that.

"I'm honestly not sure," he responded. "I like to think that it will be a random decision, not something I plan out, ya know?"
