United Airlines Employees Steal Luggage From Asiana Airlines Passengers (VIDEO)

In the chaos surrounding the crash of Asiana Flight 214, an employee of United Airlines and his fiancée allegedly stole luggage that they exchanged at Nordstrom's, according to CNN.

The couple received cash in exchange for the returned goods, according to a prosecutor.

Sean Crudup, who works as a customer service representative for United Airlines, and Raychas Thomas, his fiancée, have since been arrested, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office. Crudup and Thomas are both free on bail.

Two people died after the flight crashed at San Francisco International Airport after the plane had parts break off and spun around, catching on fire. Another person died six days later, while 180 were injured.

The crash resulted in flight delays, as well as diverted flights. As a result, some passengers' bags arrived in San Francisco before the passengers did, causing a pile-up of luggage.

Surveillance footage shows Crudup stealing bags and handing them to Thomas and another unidentified woman, according to the prosecutor's office. Thomas then exchanged the clothing from the bags at a Nordstrom in Pleasanton, California, receiving about $5,000, according to the district attorney's office.

More property belonging to the flight's passengers were found in a search of Crudup and Thomas' shared home, according to authorities. They have been charged with one count each of grand theft and two counts each of commercial burglaries, said Stephen Wagstaffe, the District Attorney. These charges carry a possible sentence of four years and four months in prison.

Thomas posted bail and is set to appear in court on August 26. Crudup was in court on July 26, where he pleaded not guilty.

United said they have a "zero tolerance for any theft," in a statement to CNN. "We are assisting the San Francisco Police Department in this investigation and this employee has been held out of service."
