Rapper DMX has been arrested. USA Today reported that DMX's publicist Domenick Nati said that the rapper was pulled over in his car because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt. DMX says he is charged with driving without a license.
Nati issued this statement saying, "Allegations about DMX being arrested for drunk driving are false. He was arrested early this morning but quickly released. X was given a breathalyzer test and easily passed it. He is back at his home in South Carolina and we are continuing our focus on his upcoming album and acting roles."
The rapper, 42, was arrested near Greenville, S.C. on Friday for driving under the influence, reported The Associated Press.
The rapper has faced different charges throughout the years. In February
Rapper DMX has been arrested in South Carolina on Wednesday February 13 for a similar charge. The Los Angeles Times reported that DMX was charged with driving without a license. He was recently in jail after his probation was revoked because he refused to take a drug test.
DMX, 42, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested after police saw him leaving a gas station in Greer, South Carolina at approximately 1 a.m. reported the Associated Press. He was taken to jail and released after he paid a fine.
DMX has been in trouble before for driving without a license. During the ordeal, his 5-month-old daughter was in the back seat
"They followed me, watched me at the gas station get in the car. And he followed me around the corner, pulled me over. Why, first of all, he could have pulled me over at the gas station as soon as I got in the car. He didn't do that," the rapper said to Fox 10 during an interview.
DMX said that the police followed him around the corner and pulled him over.
