Macy's Fireworks New Jersey: Best Viewing Locations in Hoboken & Important Information

The 37th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks will take place tonight at 9:25 pm and those in Hoboken and New Jersey will be able to get a prime view at certain locations. This year's fireworks display will last 25 minutes. Over 40,000 fireworks will be lit off tonight and the night will be full of star-studded performances.

Tonight's display is inspired and directed by Grammy-winning artist, Usher. The night will also include performances by Taylor Swift, Nick Cannon, Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey and Tim McGraw. Access to these performances is not open to the public, but the fireworks show and the performances will be broadcasted on NBC starting at 8 p.m. EST.

The 37th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks, which will be one of America's biggest fireworks displays tonight, can be viewed from the waterfront in Hoboken. Maxwell Park, from 11th Street to 14th Street, is one of the best locations to watch the fireworks as it is on the waterfront. Maxwell Park also had a small beach, playground and swings and picnic tables available for visitors, but it's best to get there early to get a comfortable spot.

Another prime location in Hoboken is Sinatra Drive from 1st Street to 15th Street. This waterfront road has public walkways. It will be closed to vehicular traffic, but open to pedestrians.
There are unobstructed views in North Hoboken from 10th Street to 15th Street. River Street from Hudson to 1st Street is also a good viewpoint.

Visitors may have to go through checkpoints to access some of these areas. Checkpoint entrances will be located at: 1st St & Sinatra Dr, 2nd St & Sinatra Dr, 3rd St & Sinatra Dr, 4th St & River St, 11th St & Sinatra Dr, 12th St & Shipyard Ln, 14th St and Shipyard Ln. Those going through the checkpoints cannot have backpacks, fireworks, coolers, glass bottles, cans, grills & barbeque materials, propane tanks, weapons, tents, alcohol, and other dangerous items. Factory sealed beverages are permitted, except for alcohol.

Many streets will be closed to traffic between 8 a.m. and midnight, including 1st to 15th Sinatra Drive, Hudson Place and River Street to 4th and River Street, 5th Street at Castle Point Terrace and Hudson Place East bound.

Parking will not be allowed on Sinatra Drive from 1st Street to 15th Street, 4th Street from River Street to Clinton Street (South side), Willow Avenue from 4th Street to 11th Street (West side of Street), Hudson Place (by PATH), Newark Street from Hudson Street to Sinatra Drive, Clinton Street from 7th to 8th Streets and Hudson Street from 14th to Observer Highway (West side of Street).
