The upcoming, fan-financed "Veronica Mars" movie has announced another two cast member additions, with Krysten Ritter returning in her role as Gia Goodman and Ryan Hansen returning as Dick Casablancas, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
"G-G-G-Gia!!!! I'm thrilled to be reprising my role of Gia Goodman in the 'Veronica Mars' movie!!!" Ritter wrote on her Twitter account when the news was announced on Friday afternoon. "It's gonna be very juicy."
Ritter posted the news as part of a longer message where she discussed her role in the series and what it meant to her and her career.
"'Veronica Mars' has a special place in my heart because it was my first big acting job (!!!!!!) and it was also one of the most lovely on-set experiences you could ever ask for," Ritter wrote. "This will truly be an awesome shoot, not only because we all get to be reunited (can't WAIT!) but because of the revolutionary way this all was able to come to life!
"Thank you, thank you, thank you to Rob Thomas, Kristen Bell, Kickstarter, and most of all, to you, our AMAZING FANS, for making it happen," Ritter continued. "I'm honored to be a part of it!"
Ryan Hansen posted a simple message.
"I'm in!!," he wrote on his Twitter, along with the video below.
The cult-favorite series ran on UPN for two seasons and the CW for an additional season, before being canceled. Ritter played Gia for eight episodes of season two from 2005-2006.
Many other fan favorite characters are returning for the film, including Kristen Bell as the title character, Veronica Mars, Jason Dohring as Logan Echolls, Enrico Colatoni as Keith Mars, Tina Majorino as Mac, Percy Daggs III as Wallace, Daran Norris as Cliff, Francis Capra as Weevil Navarro, Ryan Hansen as Dick Casablances, Sam Huntington as Luke, Brandon Hillock as Deputy Sacks, Amanda Noret as Madison Sinclair, Chris Loweel as Piz and Jonathan Chesner as Corny.
Krysten Ritter was most recently on "The B--- in Apt 23," which was recently canceled.
The creator and excutive producer of "Veronica Mars," Rob Thomas, announced the return of Ritter and Hansen on Friday.
