Princess Cruises' new Royal Princess will debut the first full-size television studio on a cruise ship. The cruise made its maiden voyage to the Mediterranean on Sunday. The tv studio is called Princess Live! And is a 280-seat space, which also is used for cooking classes and musical performances.
The studio is home to the ship's The Wake Show which is broadcasted on Princess Cabin television. USA Today reported that now it will be taped live, with passengers able to view it.
Princess Cruise's website also said of the new ship that it will have an expanded atrium with additional entertainment and dining options. It will also boast the cruise lines "largest deck pool ever with a water and light show, an enhanced Movies Under the Stars Screen and new SeaWalkSM with views 128 feet straight down."
."Adjacent to Princess Live! is the Princess Live! Café, which boasts interactive, wall-mounted screens showing the ship's position, ports of call, points of interest and images of international newspapers. The cafe serves up specialty coffees, teas, fresh squeezed juice and pastries," reported USA Today.
The ship will also offer a $3,000 spa package on its cruises.
The package includes unlimited spa treatments, gourmet food and drinks, and all-day access to a private cabana.
At the Cruise Shipping Miami conference in March, Princess unveiled a "20 things you don't know about Royal Princess." Here they released information about free on-demand in-cabin programming and the largest gelato selection at sea, all homemade, reported Cruise Critic.
The Royal Princess will also have a glass-enclosed walkway over the ocean called the SeaWalk,, and the largest outdoor movie screen at sea as well as the largest complimentary pizza restaurant at sea.
"The largest collection of Super Tuscan wines at sea and the largest free pizza restaurant at sea. Sabatini's, the line's signature Italian venue, will offer more than 20 choices for Super Tuscan wines, while Alfredo's Pizzeria will seat as many as 121 passengers for a menu that includes pizza, calzones, flatbread and baked pasta," reported Cruise Critic.
