Anchorman: The Exhibit Opens at The Newseum D.C.

For Ron Burgandy Fans, an Anchorman exhibit will open up at Newseum in November 2013. The exhibit called "Anchorman: The Exhibit" is in partnership with Paramount Pictures which opens before the anticipated "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues."

The second film will be released on December 20. The Newseum is based in Washington D.C. "One of the top attractions in Washington, D.C., the Newseum's 250,000-square-foot news museum offers visitors a state-of-the-art experience that blends news history with up-to-the-second technology and hands-on exhibits.," says Newseum's press release.

The original film was written by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay and directed by McKay featured Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner as main characters. The movie takes a comic look at a 1970s era newsroom and what happens when a female reporter arrives at the all-male news team.

"Included in "Anchorman: The Exhibit" will be costumes worn by the Channel 4 Evening News team and a number of original props from the movie, including Ron Burgundy's jazz flute and the whip used by rival anchorman Arturo Mendez during the film's memorable fight scene between rival news teams," said Newseum in a press release." The exhibit also includes a re-creation of the KVWN-TV anchor desk and news set where visitors can pose for photo ops."

Cathy Trost who is vice president of exhibits and programs at Newseum said, "For millions of viewers, the news anchor represents the authority and credibility of television news. But anchormen and women also are popular targets for pop culture laughs. The exhibit explores the reality behind the humor of 'Anchorman' and tracks the rise of personality-driven news formats in the 1970s."

At the exhibit visitors will also be able to participate in the Newseum's Be a TV Reporter stations where they can step in front of the camera and participate.

"I'm literally trapped in a glass case of emotion," added Ron Burgundy to the Newseum's press release, commenting on the new exhibit.
