Chris Brown may be in trouble with police again, according to TMZ. The singer was involved in a minor fender bender last week, and now he is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and could trigger a probation violation that could send him back to prison.
Brown rear-ended another vehicle in Toluca Lake, California, on May 21, while driving with his girlfriend, model Karreuche Tran, and then allegedly refused to provide his driver's license number and provided incorrect insurance information.
If true, this would turn a simple fender bender into a hit-and-run, violating the terms of Brown's parole from assaulting singer and then-girlfriend Rihanna. A condition of his parole is that he obeys all laws. If there is probably cause to believe he broke the law by leaving the scene of an accident without providing the information required by law, Brown could face up to four years in prison.
Brown also behaved with a bad attitude when the driver of the Mercedes he hit asked for his identification, according to sources that spoke to TMZ.
According to Brown, he did nothing wrong, and the other driver has been avoiding his attempts to discuss the matter. Sources told TMZ that Brown provided the woman the correct contact information and she hung up on his lawyer when he attempted to contact her and all subsequent calls have remained unanswered.
The sources claim that Brown hasn't been contacted by the LAPD. Other sources told TMZ that the LAPD wants to talk to Brown immediately.
Far from appearing concerned about the accident and possible parole violation, Brown was seen partying in Las Vegas and posing for raunchy photographs with his girlfriend, which she then posted online with her Instagram account. The pair are reportedly living together shortly after Brown broke up with Rihanna, who he has been involved with on-and-off since the assault.
