Hertz Rent-a-Car has announced a new Arabic language function on its web sites in the Middle Eastern region, according to BreakingTravelNews.com. The new function will offer 86 million Arabic speaking users to book car rentals in their first language.
The new Arabic option, which will be made available across the local Hertz web domains in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan initially, is the latest new option to be introduced by the company since making a new wave of investment in the Middle East within the last year.
"In 2010, Hertz embarked on a three-year plan to become the fastest, easiest and most valued car rental company in the world, and a market leader across the Middle East," Elyes Mrad, the vice president of sales and marketing for Hertz International, said in a statement. "This coincided with the opening of a Hertz Middle East and Africa corporate office in Dubai as our most significant investment into the region.
"Since then, we have continued to invest, with the Arabic language function across all our websites the latest example of our transformation to reengineer the car rental process around the customer," Mrad continued.
One of the features of the Middle Eastern investment has been a continued roll out of domestic Hertz web site domains, with the most recent additions including Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain and Turkey.
Since the introduction of the new Arabic language use, online bookings have jumped by 40 percent. Hertz is aggressively expanding its General Sales Agent (GSA) representatives throughout the region with the aim of boosting outbound car rentals from the Middle East to key markets in Europe and the U.S. The last 12 months have seen Hertz appoint dedicated GSAs in Kuwait, Southern Africa, Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan.
"The Middle East region is the perfect example of the pace of change happening in the world, and has huge growth potential for Hertz outbound car rentals," Mrad said. "Middle East customers have a very high per transaction value, because they typically reserve larger, more premium cars, and book for longer periods."
