Flight Attendant Injured Due to Turbulence on Delta Flight

A Delta Airlines flight attendant was injured after the plane from Amsterdam ran into strong turbulence on Tuesday.

According to NJ.com, a Delta Flight 35 was heading from Amsterdam to Newark Liberty International Airport when it ran into heavy turbulence about half an hour away from the airport. The flight attendant had to seek medical attention after being injured but it is not clear what type of injury they sustained and the details of how it occurred were not released. The identity of the flight attendant was also not available.

According to Morgan Durant, a Delta spokesman, the plane's fasten-seat-belt sign was on at the time. No other crew member or passengers were reported as injured. The Boeing 767-300 plane landed safely at around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

This isn't the first time a flight attendant was injured due to turbulence. Last June, a United flight heading from Houston, Texas to New York's LaGuardia Airport, had such bad turbulence when it ran into a storm, that passengers and crew were thrown into the ceiling and back onto the floor. The flight had to made an emergency landing in Lake Charles Regional Airport in Louisiana.

In January, an American Eagle flight ran into excessive turbulence as it descended into Chicago. Passengers complained of head and neck injuries after the incident and one was hospitalized.
