Justin Bieber was booed at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. The pop star may have won two awards and performed twice but that wasn't enough to impress the audience.
The "Beauty and the Beat" singer was awarded the fan-voted milestone award at the Billboard Music Award show in Las Vegas. When accepting the award, the crowd started booing the singer and those in the crowd said it was even louder than it sounded on television, People magazine reports.
"I'm 19 years old," he told the crowd in accepting the final award of the night. "I think I'm doing a pretty good job."
The singer got frustrated when the crowd started booing him. He told the audience that he should only be judged for his talent.
"This is not a gimmick," he went on to say, sounding very annoyed. "I'm an artist, and I should be taken seriously. This other bull should not be spoken of."
It's not clear what he meant by "the other bull" but Bieber has made headlines lately for wild behavior such as smoking weed and going off on a paparazzi member in London.
Bieber beat out many other young artists to win the milestone award such as Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift and that wasn't the only award he took home. He also won the Top Male Artist" award.
LMFAO's SkyBlu came to his defense after the show. "Does a day go by you don't hear Justin Bieber's name? You've got to give him respect for that," he told reporters.
Bieber should be used to getting booed by now as he has received negative commentary in several public places like a Canadian Football game, a New York Knicks basketball game and even at his own concert when he arrived several hours late.
Bieber performed twice during the night. He sang "Take You" from his 2012 album and then sang the collaboration #thatPOWER with Will.i.am.
