Hotwire.com has launched a new website that will alert travelers when airfare prices drop for their destinations.
Globalpost.com reported that it was once just a secondary took on the website for users to look at and monitor travel on the cheap, has now expanded to become its own website.
"Trip Watcher acts as your own personalized travel agent. It gives you better control, value and flexibility when booking trips by allowing you to watch specific itineraries through email alerts,' reports Hotwire.com.
All users need to do is input details-destinations, dates, preferred airlines and airports and then TripWatcher.com will send users real-time alerts for airfare prices that depart from the U.S.
"To use, subscribers must connect through Facebook or Twitter as fares and alerts are sent to users through social media networks as soon as the price drops," reports globalpost.com
Trip Watcher will send you details within a 60 day range. "Tell us where you would like to go within a 60-day range you specify. We'll watch ALL those dates for you at once and find your low-priced travel days," says Hotwire.com's website.
The website will rival other similar sites such as Airfarewatchdog.com.
The site also lists the top 50 bargain airfares daily for those who want to travel on a whim.
"We've all experienced it, we look and look for low fares and the day we decide to take a rest, we hear about a lower-priced ticket after it's already gone. So a couple of years ago, Hotwire developed the Trip Watcher tool to alleviate some of the guess work from getting a great deal," said Clem Bason, president of the Hotwire Group to CNBC.com "The tool quickly gained popularity, and we realized it was an increasingly valuable resource, which is why we decided to launch Trip Watcher as a separate, more sophisticated, flexible and fast-performing site. Using the site, travelers can rest assured they will get up-to-the-minute alerts when prices drop on their ideal flights, giving us all a chance to get the best deal."
