Swiss International Air Lines has launched a new daily non-stop service between Singapore and Zurich, Switzerland, according to BreakingTravelNews.com. The new service will ease travel by providing a new convenient route for Swiss Air passengers.
The service, LX 179, will take off from Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2, operated by an Airbus A340-300 aircraft. The inaugural flight was May 13.
The new air service enhances the strong business ties that already exist between the two large financial centers in Europe and Southeast Asia. It additionally provides convenient connecting flights for travelers going to Europe and beyond.
Swiss is the national airline of Switzerland, and it now offers flights between Singapore and Zurich seven days a week. The Airbus seats 219 passengers in a three-class cabin configuration. The planes are also fitted with the company's state-of-the-art Business Class cabin, which offers adjustable-air-cushion seats that convert into a two-meter-long lie-flat bed, which offers passengers optimum comfort while in flight.
"With our daily non-stop services between Singapore and Switzerland we want to meet the growing travel needs of both business and leisure travelers between our countries," Harry Hohmeister, the Swiss chief executive, emphasized on the occasion of the first flight. "Our double-night service perfectly complements our Star Alliance partners' offer and we are delighted to now bring the best of service, products and hospitality from Switzerland to Singapore."
Swiss flight LX 179 departs from Singapore at 23:10 (11:10 p.m.) and arrives in Zurich at 06:10 (6:10 a.m.) the following day.
Upon arrival in Zurich, passengers can connect quickly to up to 35 European destinations as well as additional destinations, such as the east coast of the United States, where service is available to cities such as New York and Miami.
Traveling eastbound, the LX 178 service leaves Zurich at 22:45 (10:45 p.m.) and arrives in Singapore at 17:15 (5:15 p.m.) the following day.
