The break-up of Rihanna and Chris Brown, the on-and-off couple who have worried many fans with their roller coaster relationship under intense public scrutiny, has taken a very public and acrimonious turn.
The couple broke up again last week, according to the Daily Mail. Since then, both Rihanna, 25, and Brown, 24, have taken to their Twitter account to air their feelings over the relationship for all the world to read.
The tweets contained sentiments of contempt that were thinly veiled but accusing each other of infidelity during their relationship.
"If I drop all my hoes for you and we still don't work out you owe me some hoes," Rihanna tweeted using Instagram on Thursday. The statement seems to imply Rihanna dropped her girlfriends to spend time with Brown while they were dating.
"She's not mine if she's everybody elses," Brown tweeted in response on Friday.
Prior to that, they had both sent out tweets on Wednesday that seemed to address their relationship less directly.
"Sometimes loving someone is too much," Brown tweeted. "So loving from a distance will help everyone grow."
"Settling is not an option," Rihanna tweeted. "Nothing less than 100% loyalty, honesty, and respect."
There were reports that Rihanna was partying with he ex-boyfriend, J.R. Smith on Tuesday after performing a show in New York prior to Brown's tweets.
Brown spent his birthday with his ex-girlfriend Karreuche Tran last weekend, as well.
Prior to the Twitter spat, Brown made an appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O radio show.
"I'm always going to love that person...but I can't be focused on wife-ing someone that young," Brown said on the show. "I need to step forward and be a man and be the best Chris Brown I can be."
The relationship between Brown and Rihanna has been under more scrutiny since they reunited after Brown was sentenced for beating Rihanna before the Grammy Awards in 2009.
