DoubleTree by Hilton Is Opening Two New Properties in London

DoubleTree by Hilton announced it will be opening two new hotels in London this summer under franchise agreements with Westmont Hospitality, according to BreakingTravelNews.com.

The new hotels will be located in Hyde Park and Ealing. They are both currently in the end stages of a refurbishment process, which has cost a total of approximately $30 million. The two new locations will join seven other existing properties from DoubleTree by Hilton in London.

"London is a world class destination and DoubleTree by Hilton is becoming a major part of its tourism offering," Patrick Fitzgibbon, the senior vice president of development for Europe and Africa for Hilton Worldwide, said. "These two new properties complement the strength of our long established Hilton Hotels and Resorts presence, whereby this year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the landmark London Hilton on Park Lane.

The new location near Hyde Park is located opposite Kensington Gardens on Bayswater Road, where it is only a short walk from the Notting Hill and Queensway underground stations, making it convenient for visitors to get around the city.

The hotel features a 24-hour fitness center as part of the refurbishment, as well as 12 new guest rooms on the first floor, increasing the number of rooms to 228.

The Ealing location is also conveniently located near an underground station for ease of movement around the city. The Ealing underground and overground stations are only a few minutes walk from the hotel, which has 189 rooms, as well as in-room work areas and tech stations in the public areas, which can be used for a meeting space. The bar and lounge also have power outlets and a restaurant that features locally sourced ingredients.

"Building on the international exposure of 2012, we are thrilled to be enhancing our presence in London with these two latest additions, whereby we will have 31 upscale hotels spread right across the city and its airports," Fitzgibbon said.
