Iwan Fals is dead. At least that's what the Internet is saying. However the Indonesian musician didn't die. He's just the victim of an Internet death hoax. Iwan Fals is alive and well.
Rumors started swirling that the famous Indonesian musician, Iwan Fals, also known as Virgiawan Listanto, passed away. It is not clear how the rumors started or who started them, but fans can rest easy because it's nothing more than a rumor.
Iwan Fals is just fine. Yet fans took to Twitter to question and mourn the death of the singer. Some examples of Tweets include:

However not everyone caught on. Some immediately caught on to the fact that it was nothing more than a hoax.

Iwan Fals isn't dead but he is reportedly working on a new album which will be released in June.
This isn't the first time that the Internet tried to kill off Iwan Fals. He alco became the victim of a death hoax in April 2012. Rumors started spreading that the singer died of a heart attack, but he cleared up the rumor himself, proving that he was still alive.
Internet celebrity death hoaxes have become a trend in recent years. A different celebrity is killed off every week. Some death hoaxes start through rumors on social media that spread and some are started by fake news story generators. Sites like Global Associated News is a fake site that has several stories claiming that a certain celebrity died in some tragic accident.
If no reliable news source has confirmed the death, it likely isn't true.
