Actress Keira Knightley married singer James Righton, in the south of France just before noon on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.
Knightley wore a short, white Chanel dress with a tulle skirt, and pale pink flat shoes with a garland of flowers in her hair for a small ceremony at the town hall in Mazan, a small town approximately 12 miles from Marseilles, that included 11 guests.
Knightley and Righton rode to the reception in a silver Renault Clio after leaving the town hall to choruses of "Well done, Keira."
"It was amusing to see them being driven away in a battered old Renault Clio, it certainly looked as though it had seen better days," said an onlooker.
The mother of the bride, Sharman MacDonald, is hosting a reception on Saturday afternoon.
MacDonald wore a blue and white silk dress. Righton's father, Nicholas, and brother, Bill, wore chinos.
"It was a very moving ceremony," said the onlooker. "Keira looked extremely moved by the whole thing, there were certainly tears of happiness."
Knightley's family owns an estate about three miles outside of the town. It is an eight-bedroom property shielded by conifers that sits on 20 acres of vineyards and olive trees.
The Klaxons, the band Righton belongs to, will entertain guests at an after-party in the garden. Around 50 guests are expected to attend, among them Sienna Miller, a former co-star of Knightley, and designer Karl Lagerfeld.
"It's a beautiful location for the wedding," said a guest. "They're very, very lucky.
""It's just the perfect time of year for it as well," the guests added. "They couldn't have picked a better weekend weather-side."
The couple is expected to throw a second party to celebrate when they return to England.
The couple got engaged in May 2012 after meeting through mutual friend Alexa Chung. They live in east London.
"It's not like the first three months, the first two years, whatever it is, but I think it gets more interesting," Knightley said about marriage, "or I hope so."
