Singers and crazy demands go together like the strawberries and cream some of them demand, and now Beyoncé is joining the list with her own set of outrageous requests for her Mrs. Carter world tour, according to Yahoo! News.
There are some things listed that are not so bad, such as green crudités, while others are kind of strange, such as red toilet paper. Does that exist?
It's gets crazier after that though. Beyoncé reportedly requires $900 worth of titanium drinking straws "which will be used to drink a special alkaline water that's served at exactly 21 degrees." Along with the titanium straws, there must be hand-carved ice balls for her to suck on after every performance to protect her vocal chords.
Another more out there requirement is that a new toilet seat be brought into each venue. Maybe she is a germaphobe?
There is also the requirement that her dressing room walls be painted off-white, a demand that is not unfamiliar to anyone aware of the demands from singer Jennifer Lopez, who also requests a lot of white things.
Another really weird one - the crew has to wear clothing that is made of 100 percent cotton. Does she check the tags?
Also, no Cheetos are allowed during her performance, which would be understandable if it was because of the noise from the crinkly bag, but it is the result of a ban on all junk food. Only vegetables, oatcakes and plates of almonds served on glass platters are acceptable.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly had similarly strange and out there demands backstage at Beyoncé's Super bowl performance, where they required their baby's $22,000 crib be shipped from their home in New York City to New Orleans, where the Super bowl was held. The dressing room was then reportedly stocked with $6,000 worth of alcohol and cigars for Jay-Z to use in his free time.
Two hours before she goes on stage to perform, "She's extremely regimented and is taking everything extremely seriously, so she expects her list of demands to be adhered to and every detail be taken in," says the tour source.
"Working so hard and with the toll the travel takes on her body in addition to the intense shows, she feels that her requests aren't too much to ask for as she wants to ensure everything goes according to plan."
A source spoke to the London Evening Star about the diva singer's space requirements at venues, where Beyoncé uses a space typically used to accommodate entire sports teams.
"They are much bigger though, and she was given free rein to refurbish them to her own taste," the source said. "They're also in a quieter part of the backstage area, which gives her a better atmosphere to get focused for her shows."
No photo credentials are being issued for the current tour either, reportedly because Beyoncé doesn't want any unflattering photographs to come out after the one from her at the Super bowl.
