A new cruise itinerary in Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands is being introduced to the 2013 American Spirit schedule by American Cruise Lines, the largest U.S. cruise company. It had its debut trip on April 27.
"We are excited to offer the Puget Sound cruise to our guests and to provide a unique experience in that location," Timothy Beebe, the Vice President of American Cruise Lines told BreakingTravelNews.com. "We recognize that our cruisers have many options these days and we are proud they choose to sail with us and identify our brand as a leader in the cruise industry."
The new trip will provide a look into the lush greenery and interesting scenery that is found in the Pacific Northwest. The new voyage is an addition to a growing number of cruises through the Pacific Northwest offered by the company, which includes cruises to Alaska as well as cruise itineraries on the Columbia and Snake Rivers.
The new addition is an eight-day round-trip voyage that departs from Seattle and explores hundred of islands in the Puget Sound area that are between Vancouver Island and the U.S. mainland, many of which are uninhabited.
During the trip, guests will receive personalized services, fine dining and nightly entertainment, as well as daily lectures and seminars from local experts on the region's history.
The new itinerary will run from April 2013 through October 2013 and then start up again in March 2014 to run through November 2014. Rates start at $3,750 per person.
The cruise will also include excursions to Victoria, Canada, and Anacortes, Washington, as well as Friday Harbor, Olympic National Park and Hurricane Ridge.
The American Spirit has 200 square foot staterooms that feature large open picture windows and hotel-style bathrooms, panoramic lounges, an exercise area and putting green and carries 100 guests.
