Paramount Studios, long associated with entertainment, the logo of the mountain surrounded by stars coming up before the latest film, is now adding Paramount Hotels & Resorts to their company, with plans to open the first hotel and resort projects in Berlin and Dubai.
The new Berlin location will be called DAMAC Towers by Paramount, and will consist of four towers. It is scheduled to open in 2016.
They will then extend the brand to China, where a new resort will be built on the island of Boao, which Paramount calls "the country's very own Hawaii." The resort will offer extensive views of the ocean and direct access to beaches.
Paramount plans to focus on expanding the resorts to capital and "gateway" cities, as well as key resort destinations. In this way, they can target primary markets and growth destinations.
The hotel and resort properties are being developed the same way the company approaches filmmaking.
"Each will be conceived as a major release and will be crafted by a team of uniquely creative people, working together with a uniquely creative process," said Paramount, in a written statement.
The properties will be built and managed with influence from the local creative communities, including traditional foods, contemporary art, photography, traditional music and performances. They will also cater to business travelers by providing excellent service and luxury amenities with a basis in California culture, which they plan to integrate with the local cultures.
Ghassan El Aridi, who acquired the rights to develop the hotel and resort from the Viacom group in March 2012, developed the project. He has thirty years of experience in tourism and the tourism development industry and currently serves as CEO of Alpha Tours, which is a destination management company based in Dubai.
"Growing in both size and reach, they are an inspirational psychographic and hugely influential force, encompassing the media, music, design, fashion, publishing and the arts," the company promises about its new properties.
