There's never an appropriate time for a domestic violence incident but breaking out into a fight on a plane is probably one of the worst. That's exactly what happened on a Southwest Airlines flight recently.
A domestic violence incident broke out between a man and a woman on Southwest flight 382 from Las Vegas to Denver on Wednesday night according to Westword.com
"Regularly scheduled Southwest flight 382 arrived safely in Denver from Las Vegas at around midnight," says Laura Coale, a spokesperson for Denver International Airport -- at which point "we were notified of a possible report of domestic violence."
According to Coale, "the Denver Police Department, TSA operations and the FBI responded to the aircraft" to question passengers. They were interviewed for about an hour and all of the passengers had to remain on the plane during the questioning.
Coale thinks the man involved in the incident was arrested. A Denver Police Department spokesman gave a few details about the incident. They said they "had limited involvement" in the matter, but the man was wanted for an outstanding warrant. He was arrested for that charge. The man has not been identified.
It wasn't clear if the man was also charged for the domestic violence incident or where he was being held.
FBI, spokesman Dave Joly added some information, saying that "because it was in the air, we have a role to verify no harm to the passengers or the flight crew.' Investigators on the scene determined that federal charges shouldn't be pressed. The name of the woman and other people involved in the incident was not released either. It is not clear if the woman was injured.
There were no witness reports available to shed light on the details of the domestic violence incident.
This isn't the first time a fight has broken out on a flight.
