Lollapalooza 2013 Lineup: The Cure, Mumford & Sons and The Killers Among Lineup for Chicago Music Festival

The Lollapalooza 2013 lineup has been revealed and it is sure to be a great time! With bands like The Cure, Mumford & Sons and the Killers headlining, the Chicago music fest is going to be one of the best yet.

Lollapalooza is set to take place in Chicago's Grant Park from August 2 to August 4. The lineup was announced on Monday in a surprise. It was originally supposed to be announced on April 9. In addition to The Cure, Mumford & Sons and the Killers, big names like Nine Inch Nails, Phoenix, the Postal Service, Vampire Weekend, New Order, Queens of the Stone Age, The National, The Lumineers and Kendrick Lamar will also appear during the weekend music festival. Dozens of other performers will also be taking the stages.

For the first time in the festival's 20-year history, The Cure will take the stage and founder Perry Farrell, who also plays for Jane's Addiction made it happen.

"The first time I ran into Robert Smith of The Cure was 1997 in New York City," Farrell said in a statement. "We were both going into the same club; and it was Halloween. I was dressed as myself and so was he. I am so happy The Cure have finally arrived at Lolla in Chicago!"

The Killers will kick off the first day of the festival with Nine Inch Nails making their first appearance at the fest since 2008. Mumford & Sons will open the second day with performances by The Postal Service, The National and The Lumineers following.

Ellie Goulding; Lana Del Rey; Eric Church; Matt & Kim; Grizzly Bear; Azealia Banks; Tegan & Sara; 2 Chainz; Cat Power; Band of Horses; and Hot Chip are also on the lineup.

More than 130 acts were announced altogether on Monday. Three-day passes are already sold out for the festival. The 80,000 three-day passes went on sale last week and sold out within a few hours for $235 each. There are a limited number of single-day tickets which will go on sale on Wednesday, April 3 at 10:00 a.m. CT. They're going for $95 each day.
