With cruise lines around the world announcing new itineraries covering different parts of the world while unveiling new ships in the process, the small-ship Seattle-based operator, Un-Cruise Adventures, announced its plans for its first trips in Central America starting in late 2015.
The Seattle-based company said in a press release that "its newly acquired, 64-passenger Safari Voyager will operate along the Costa Rican coast during winters starting in December 2015, and then the ship will spend its summers along the Belize Coast. It'll offer Panama Canal sailings in the spring and fall."
The ship formerly-known as Sea Voyager is undergoing renovations in Colombia, but will become Un-Cruise Adventures' eighth ship upon repair completion.
Staying in the design format of its other ships, Safari Voyager will carry kayaks and skiffs for exploring, it will also feature a swim step platform on its stern. Un-Cruise said "the ship's renovation also is bringing a new library with floor-to-ceiling windows and a massage room, and the Sun Deck will become an al fresco public space with fitness equipment and lounge chairs," according to USA Today.
The company further states that the ship "will begin year-round sailings in Mexico's Sea of Cortés starting this November, taking the place of Un-Cruise's 86-passenger Safari Endeavor," reported USA Today.
There will be four itineraries in Mexico's Sea of Cortes for their passengers to choose from, sailing out of home ports in La Paz, Cabo and Guaymas, respectively.
According to Un-Cruise Adventures, "details of the ship's Central America deployment, including itineraries, shore programs and fares, will be released in coming months."
