Disneyland awarded a disabled man $8,000 after the It's A Small World ride broke down, forcing him to listen to the theme song continuously for 30 minutes.
Jose Martinez, who is paralyzed, was one of many passengers who got stuck on the ride when it broke down in 2009, but he was left stranded on the ride as staff members failed to rescue him or call the fire department to save him, the Daily Mail reports.
The staff members helped the other visitors but they had no way to reach Martinez due to his disability.
As if being stuck on the ride wasn't bad enough, Martinez was forced to listen to the irritating theme song on a continuous loop as the staff members never turned it off.
Due to his condition, Martinez is confined to a wheelchair and often suffers from panic attacks and high blood pressure. He also needed to urinate as he was stuck on the popular Fantasyland ride.
His health conditions started to become an issue as he listened to the song play over and over again while stuck on the ride.
"He was half in the cave of the ride and half out," Geffen said, according to the Daily Mail. "The music was blaring. They couldn't get it to go off."
Martinez filed a lawsuit in February 2011 claiming that Disney should have contacted the fire department to help remove him rather than wait for the ride to be fixed.
Martinez was eventually taken off the ride and received medical attention at a first aid station.
Judge James Selna awarded Martinez after determining that Disneyland did not take proper care of Martinez in the incident and they failed to notify disabled riders that they could be stranded if the ride were to break down.
