Sharon Stone hasn't been in the limelight for some time now, but in the past week, she has made a few headlines.
Earlier in the week, news broke that she will be christening the new AmaWaterways' AmaVida cruise ship, scheduled to set sail on March 22 and now she is being sued by her former maid.
Stone's maid Angelica Castillo is seeking unspecified damages from the 54-year-old "Basic Instinct" star for wrongful termination and wrongful retaliation, reports RadarOnline.
The suit says Castillo, who started working for Stone in 2010, suffered severe pain when she hurt her back while carrying Stone's groceries in June. Although a doctor ordered her not to lift heavy objects and to get bed rest, Stone told her to return to work, the complaint said, according to CNN.
Four months later, after the maid told Stone that she was still in pain, the actress is said to have yelled at her for working slowly, calling her "crazy and stupid," reported RadarOnline.
It is alleged that Stone then fired Castillo in October 2012 after just two years working for her.
However on Tuesday Sharon's lawyer Marty Singer told TMZ: "[This lawsuit] is bizarre and ridiculous. Ms. Castillo was never fired, and as of today is still covered by health insurance as an employee of Ms. Stone. We are confident that Ms. Stone will prevail in this meritless case."
This is the second time that Stone has been sued by a former employee.
In May of 2012, the actress was taken to court by her children's Filipino nanny, Erlinda Elemen, who accused her of making derogatory comments about her ethnicity.
Elemen claimed that Stone made disparaging comments about her accent and told the nanny not to talk to her children because she didn't want them to 'talk like' her.
This was followed by a series of other incidents, including a reduction in Elemen's pay, Stone fired the nanny, after four years of service, for no reason in 2011.
