Reality shows are the way of life in today's TV world and for "America's Got Talent," where the judging panel now consists of one "comedian," Howie Mandel, one shock jock, Howard Stern, one supermodel, Heidi Klum, and one "musician/singer" Melanie Brown, the crowd, at least in New Orleans.
The former Spice Girl, also known as Melanie Brown, joined the "AGT" panel as a judge this season along with fellow newcomer Heidi Klum. But according to TMZ, Brown's first day on the job didn't go too well.
Mel B reportedly got booed by the audience at the auditions in New Orleans, which took place yesterday.
The reason for the negative crowd reaction was due to her "judgement" of the first act called Lagniappe, a band that TMZ claims, is a very popular band in the area.
Mel told the band ... she's not a fan of brass music. Bad move in The Big Easy. The audience went nuts on her, screaming "Go home," and "No respect."
The judge was reportedly visibly shaken by the reactions reports TMZ.
As the booing continued and eventually subsided, digitalspy.com, reports "Scary Spice" leaned over to fellow judge Howie Mandel, who hugged her.
Mel B was recently announced as a replacement for Sharon Osbourne on the NBC talent show.
NBC president of alternative television Paul Telegdy said of Mel B: "I've known Melanie since she did "Dancing with the Stars." To know her is to know a very frank, strong, enduring entertainer. [She's] someone who has a very strong point of view," according to digitalspy.com.
"Scary Spice" isn't the only change for the upcoming eight season, as, for the first time in series history, there will be four judges on the panel.
With stops in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Antonio still to come on the audition road, Mel B will have time to get used to the audience and have them get used to her.
