A girl survived a jet crash in the French Alps on Monday. She was the only survivor on the small plane.
According to Reuters, Three people were on board the small passenger jet which crashed shortly after takeoff. The other two passengers were killed in the crash. Firefighters discovered the young girl still alive in the wreckage. She didn't escape unscathed. She suffered from severe injuries including many fractures.
The girls' injuries were not life-threatening. Many of the injuries occurred in her pelvic region.
The small plane, a PRM1 twin-engine corporate jet left Annemasse airport on the French-Swiss border. The airport is located just three miles from Geneva.
The plane reportedly hit a house and then landed in a garden. Photos of the incident show the fiery wreckage in the garden of a home.
A source told AFP that the pilot was a man in his 50's and the girl who survived is believe to be about 15 year old and she was the man's daughter.
"It hit the roof of a first house before it crashed in the yard of a neighboring house," a French state official, Pierre Molager, told Reuters.
It is not clear who the third person that died in the incident was. It is also not clear what caused the plane to crash.
The identity of the second person who died was not clear, the news agency reported. The cause of the accident was also not known.
This small plane crash comes a day after a small plane crashed in New Mexico. A family of four died in the crash near Angel Fire airport. High winds are believed to have played a role in this crash. Two weeks ago, another plane crashed off the runway at Thomson-McDuffie County Airport near Augusta, Georgia. Five people died in that incident.
