Think the TSA won't go through your bag if you're carrying sex toys? Think again.
According to sex blogger Rori Sweet of Washington DC, the Transportation Security Administration agents always go through her checked luggage when she flies, she tells the New York Post.
"My checked bag is searched almost every time I fly. I guess I'm just lucky, or look suspicious!" said Rori Sweet.
Sweet isn't the only one who noticed her personals get inspected personally.
"They always go through my bag!" Kitty Stryker, a California sex educator told the Post.
The TSA doesn't make it a secret when they go through their stuff. They leave official printed noticed every time they go through checked luggage to let the owner know that their stuff was searched.
Sex-toy vendor Vicki Kriner got a special notice from one TSA agent who went through her bag. He even signed it.
"His name was Jim, and he dotted the 'i' with a heart," Kriner told the Post. "The note said to have a nice day and had a smiley face scrawled next to it. It seemed unprofessional, and a little creepy," she said.
Traveling with sex toys is not illegal, according to the TSA. They even allowed travelers to have vibrators and dildos in their carry-ons as long as they're less than seven inches long, the Post notes.
Other items such as lubes like K-Y Jelly are also permitted, as long as they follow the TSA's 3-1-1 liquid rule. Liquids under 3.4 ounces are permitted.
However the TSA puts a stop to some of the fun. Things like handcuffs, floggers, police batons, whips and other items which could be considered weapons are not allowed in carry-on language. It is best if these items are checked, but these items might peak the curiosity of the TSA.
There is no information on how often the TSA comes across sex items, but those who carry them are positive that the TSA checks them out every time.
"It's titillation," Stryker told the Post.
