Mark McGrath and Friends Cruise Cancelled Following Carnival Triumph Disaster

Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray has decided to cancel his Mark McGrath and Friends Cruise following the events that took place on the troubled Carnival Triumph.

McGrath changed the cruise's official website to read , "The Mark McGrath & Friends Cruise Has Been Cancelled," without giving much of an explanation.

Fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment in the cancellation, calling it "a real bummer." The cruise was supposed to be a four-day trip from October 18-21 and it was set to sail from Miami, Florida to Nassau, Bahamas. Bands like McGrath's Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, Spin Doctors, and the Gin Blossoms were supposed to perform, making it a 90's music fan's dream theme cruise.

Some are speculating and believes the ticket sales didn't do well. Mark McGrath's face might not have been worth $649 for fans. There may have also been scheduling conflicts for the bands that were supposed to perform.

McGrath gave some insight to why the cruise was canceled through Twitter. "That recent cruise fiasco really took us down," McGrath tweeted, later expanding, "That poop cruise did us no favors."

The "poop cruise" he was referring to was the fiasco that occurred on the Carnival Triumph. Following an engine fire, the ship was left adrift in the Gulf of Mexico. It had no power or water and had to be dragged back to a port in Mobile, Alabama by tug boats in a process that took several days.

The passengers were subject to horrendous conditions which included no working toilets, limited food, no air conditioning and more. There are no several lawsuits against Carnival.

There is no explanation for how the Carnival disaster may have been connected to the Mark McGrath cruise, but he might have used it as an excuse for why tickets might not have sold well.
