Lindsey Vonn Vow: Skier Is Determined To Be Ready For 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia

To show her determination skier Lindsey Vonn promised that she will be fit and ready to compete at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games (being held in Sochi, Russia) despite breaking her right leg and tearing her ACL and MCL on Feb. 5 at the Alpine skiing world championships in Austria.

"I have no doubt I will be ready for Sochi," Vonn said Monday on the "Today" show. "Honestly, in a worst-case scenario, if I trained a week before the Games, I'd be fine."

With the Olympics slated to begin Feb. 7 to 23. Von knows that even though she has time, she doesn't have that much time, but she was quick to admit to reporters that she thought her injury would keep her out of the games.

"I initially thought it was going to be worse. There was just so much pain that I couldn't quite tell where exactly it was coming from," reported Los Angeles Times.

When pressed to go through what exactly happened, she obliged and took the reporters inside her run and mind.

"Basically what happened was I came into that jump going a little bit faster, or I don't know if I just hit the jump wrong, but I feel like I flew a lot further than the other girls,'' Vonn said. "When I landed, the snow was just different. The snow was soft. It was not slick, basically, and my right ski just stopped and my knee buckled. I feel that loose snow was 100% the reason why I crashed," according to Los Angeles Times.

As for her rumored relationship with golfer Tiger Woods, she used her injury to dodge the question.

"I'm only two weeks out from the worst injury I've had in my career. At this point, I'm just not going to talk about my personal life.''
