Three were killed in a shooting on the Las Vegas strip on Thursday.
In a drive-by shooting in front of the Bally's Hotel & Casino, the occupants of a black Range Rover SUV pulled aside and shot at the people inside a Maserati early Thursday morning. The men in the black Range Rover fired shots into the car, hitting the driver and passenger, ABC reports.
The Maserati served into an intersection and hit at least four other cars. A taxi that was hit with the driver and passenger inside caught on fire and exploded.
"There was a loud bang and I hear two other booms. I looked out my window at Caesars Palace ... and could see the fireball," witness John Lamb told 8News Now.
The black SUV left the scene. The driver of the Maserati died from being shot while the driver and passenger in the taxi died in the fire.
Three other people, including the passenger in the Maserati were injured in the incident and were being treated at University Medical Center. No bystanders were hit by gunfire.
Police are watching surveillance video to try to identify the men inside the Range Rover. It is not clear why they started shooting at the people in the Maserati.
"We're currently looking for a black Range Rover Sport, with large black rims and some sort of dealership advertising or advertisement plates," Officer Jose Hernandez of the Las Vegas Metropolitan police department told ABC. "This is an armed and dangerous vehicle."
The Las Vegas Strip was closed to pedestrians due to the investigation. A section of Flamingo Road was closed off to traffic. Las Vegas Boulevard wa closed between Caesars Palace and the Paris Hotel. Drivers were advised to use pring Mountain Road, Desert Inn Road, Tropicana Avenue, or Harmon Avenue instead of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane.
