Many airlines are canceling flights due to a major winter storm in the midwest. Hundreds of flights have been cancelled which is sure to cause a travel headache for thousands of people. Travel is expected to be disrupted Thursday and Friday.
According to flight-tracking site FlightAware.com, 350 flights have been canceled. Of those, more than 170 are at Kansas City International Airport. More than 64 flights were canceled at Dallas/ Fort Worth International. Several flights were also canceled at Chicago O'Hare and Lambert-St. Louis International.
The airline that was impacted the most is American Airlines with 90 flights canceled. Southwest has more than 40 flights canceled.
The Weather Channel is predicting harsh winter weather conditions in parts of Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Iowa. The storm is expected to continue into the Great Lakes and upper Midwest by Friday.
Many airlines have changed their policies so that travelers can rebook their flights. Most airlines allow customers to make one change without having to pay additional fares or fees.
