Here Are Some Activities You Should Book Now for When the Pandemic Has Passed

Have you heard the good news? The coronavirus has met its match and is on the verge of losing the life and death battle to human ingenuity. A vaccine is on the way - not just one, but two, and possibly more. Early tests are showing as much as a 95% effective rate, eliminating 100% of serious infections.

We are expected to have the first shots going in arms before year's end. All of that is amazing news. We haven't won yet. But we are about to. You don't want to be the last person to get Covid just before we start administering effective vaccines. So keep your powder dry and be very careful until then.

In the meantime, there are some things you can do besides just sitting around and waiting for it to all be over. Take a moment to think about the first thing you want to do when this is all over. Come up with three activities. Now consider this: Millions of other people came up with at leas one of those three things if not all of them. There will be a quite the scrum to be first in line to do those things. If you want to be among the first to do the following when they are available, start booking reservations and making plans right now:

Joining the Best Gyms

Gyms have been hit hard in California. In fact, all businesses have been hit hard in California. Still, there is a chance your favorite California gym is still open and practicing a Covid-safe business. But if they are waiting till after the vaccines are broadly available, you might want to go ahead and book a membership to hold your spot.

There will be a crush on gyms in a few months. We can anticipate that due to capacity, some gyms will sell out of memberships as they run out of capacity. You will definitely want a membership because the best way to fight off the coronavirus is to be as healthy as possible. As we know, even healthy people succumb to the virus. But statistically, they are not as likely to get a serious infection.

Not everyone lives in a 3,000 sq. ft. McMansion replete with all the latest fitness equipment. You can't let that stop you from being your best physical self. Find a good gym and support it by securing a membership. It is a major win-win for local businesses and for yourself.

Your Ski Vacation

According to the people in the know, you need to book your ski travel now. There is already a push for reservations. In many places, reservations are required, not optional. So while skiing is a relative covid-safe activity right now, it is a highly sought after activity with limited availability. The 2021 ski season is already underway. And a day on the snow is one of the hottest tickets going.

Air Travel

It is an open question as to whether to book your flight now or at the last minute for your next vacation. There are good arguments on both sides. After all, the easiest trip to cancel is the one you never book. However, because of the coronavirus, airlines have made it easier than ever to cancel. They would much rather eat the change fees than have you make their airline ground zero for a third wave.

The problem is going to be that the time you think it is safe to travel will be the time about 100 million of your closest friends come to that same conclusion. Right now, there are an awful lot of vacations canceled and bonus miles unspent. Weddings have been put off for a better day and business will start doing in-person meetings again. All that pent-up demand is going to burst free at about the same time. If you don't book now, you will find yourself in the back of a very long travel line.

2020 is rapidly coming to a close in more ways than one. So be ready by seeking your gym membership, your ski reservation and your plane ticket to your next adventure. The line is already starting to form.
