Just days after Kate Middleton was slammed by Booker Prize winning author, Hilary Mantel, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood had something to say about the Princess.
Westwood, 71, criticized Middleton during an interview at London Fashion week for not recycling her clothes more. USA Today reported that shie said,
"It would be great if she wore the same clothes over and again because that's very good for the environment and it would send out a very nice message," Westwood said according to USA Today. "If you're going to all that trouble to get an outfit that suits you, then you should keep on wearing it. I mean, you don't have to have a red outfit one day and then something almost the same in blue the next."
In 2011 Westwood also made a comment about Middleton's eye makeup. She said to The Sunday Times, "I think she's got a problem with eye make-up! The sharp line around her eyes makes her look hard. Either she should be smudgy or wear none."
She also called Middleton's image "ordinary." Westwood added to The Sunday Times, "It seems to me that her image is 'ordinary woman. Therefore, High Street shopper. And I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from."
Hilary Mantel did not have kind words to say about Middleton during a British Museum lecture. The writer reportedly called her "bland" and a "plastic princess," "painfully thin" who has "dead eyes."
The attack has been under media scrutiny and Prime Minister David Cameron defended Middleton saying that Mantel's attack on her was "completely misguided and completely wrong," reported USA Today.
Middleton recently got back from her beach vacation in the Caribbean island of Mustique and participated in her first speaking engagement on Feb. 19 at the Hope House rehab addiction center in London.
Kate is a patron for the addiction charity and spent the morning meeting with women there. Nick Barton who is chief executive for Action on Addiction said according to The Huffington Post that Middleton was an "intelligent" woman who was genuinely interested in the charity.
The Princess is more than four months pregnant. She hasn't gone on many speaking engagements since her pregnancy and run in the hospital for acute morning sickness.
