The hottest new places to visit next year were listed by Airbnb. Taking into account growth in year-on-year bookings, this year's list is full of surprises and hidden gems with Milwaukee coming in at first place.

The list included mostly lesser-known and eco-conscious cities and countries, as well as emerging hot spots, plus blossoming culture hubs.

Here is Part 2 of the travel rental company's recommendations:

11. Cali, Colombia

The world's salsa capital has a real zest and an unmistakably electrifying atmosphere; a tropical party vibe and energizing nightlife.

You can visit the oldest church Iglesia de la Merced, a beautiful colonial cathedral on the Plaza Caycedo and Museo de Arte Colonia which mainly displays colonial religious art.

12. Cape Canaveral, US

In July 2020, Cape Canaveral will be the launch site of the much anticipated Mars 2020 Exploration Program.

It also offers fine beaches, an increasingly popular cruise ship port, the nearby Brevard Zoo and friendly hotels, inns and restaurants. Near the space center is Canaveral National Seashore, 24 miles of undeveloped beach with 1,045 plant species and 310 bird species.

13. Aberdeen, Scotland

Aberdeen has plenty to offer, with a thriving restaurant and gallery scene. It is also laudable for its efforts to drastically reduce carbon emissions.

Most cultural attractions, such as the Maritime Museum and Aberdeen Art Gallery, are free.

It mixes rich history, beautiful granite architecture and traditional industries with a flurry of leisure and entertainment amenities.

14. Courtenay, Canada

Set in Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, Courtenay is the ideal destination for those looking to fully immerse themselves in the outdoors as it is filled with mountains, meadows, and small hipster villages.

Courtenay offers the best of both worlds: ocean adventures and mountain retreats.

The Courtenay Museum and Paleontology Centre is home to an 80-million-year-old Elasmosaur. Other popular attractions and events include the Puntledge River fish hatchery, the Vancouver Island Music Festival and the North Island Hot Jazz Festival.

15. Ubatuba, Brazil

Ubatuba is the surfing capital of São Paulo state. The peaks of the Serra do Mar provide a dramatic, emerald-green backdrop to the winding, sun-kissed Ubatuba coastline.

It is comprised by elegant beach homes, stylish accommodations and an absolutely stunning arsenal of idyllic beaches.

16. Les Contamines-Montjoie, France

Les Contamines-Montjoie is the perfect destination for both mountain climbers and skiers. Mont Blanc, Western Europe's highest peak, is a playground for thrill-seekers attracts visitors for extreme skiing, ice climbing and paragliding.

Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains is highlighted by an attractive church and attractive alpine style hotels and houses.

17. Tokyo, Japan

The host of the upcoming Summer 2020 Olympics is one of the busiest, craziest, more bizarre cities on the planet.

Eat Michelin-star ramen at Tsuta. When else can you say you've had the experience of eating at Michelin-star food for under $10?

You can also sleep at a 'Capsule Hotel' (semblance to sleeping at a space ship) and you can visit the Tsukiji fish markets.

18. Kerala, India

The pace of life here in Kerala is slower and calmer.

In Fort Kochi, you can see a Hindu Temple, a Church and a Synagogue all practically on the same street. Within Kerala's emerald green mountain ranges is the spectacular Periyar National Park.

19. Malindi, Kenya

Malindi is one of the most demographically unique cities in Kenya. Malindi has become very much an Italian holiday destination.

Beaches are picture-postcard-perfect, with white sand and coconut palms.

20. Maastricht, The Netherlands

In 2020, it will host The European Fine Art Fair‎.

Maastricht has Roman history, a maze of tunnel-caves and historical buildings aplenty.
