Kim Kardahian and Kanye West just returned from a relaxing vacation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but upon returning home, the celebrity couple is finding themselves in the middle of a major security investigation by the TSA.
When pregnant Kardashian and West flew from Brazil to JFK on Tuesday, they needed to catch a connecting flight to Los Angeles. However the couple caused the flight to be delayed and it wasn't their fault, TMZ reports.
When they arrived at the airport, an airline greeter let them bypass the TSA security checkpoint so that they could get on their connecting flight as soon as possible.
Kardashian and West were sitting on the L.A.-bound flight, waiting for it to take off, when a TSA agent got on board and pulled them off.
The couple was forced to go through the security checkpoint and the flight was delayed for about an hour as they were screened by the TSA.
Even though the incident revolved around two high-profile people, the TSA says the incident wasn't their fault, but rather the fault of the airline employee.
"An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight," the TSA told TMZ.
"In doing so, the airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to by-pass the TSA security checkpoint. TSA officials learned of the violation and conducted a private screening of the two passengers in the area of the jetway."
"The passengers were cleared to board their flight, which departed after a delay of approximately 50 minutes. TSA is actively investigating the incident."
Kardashian and West were able to get to Los Angeles but they were met by swarms of paparazzi upon landing. Despite the ordeal that they went through, they seemed calm, TMZ notes.
Kardashian seemed to be glad to be home.
"I love being in LA! Good workout, eating healthy...off to a photo shoot with @KourtneyKardash & @KhloeKardashian Have a great day everyone!" she tweeted on Wednesday.
