O.J. Simpson Party: O.J Holds Superbowl Party in His Jail Cell

O.J. Simpson is currently serving a prison sentence of 33 years for kidnapping and armed robbery. He is holed up in the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada and according to the New York Post, the one-time football great, Simpson, threw a Super Bowl Party in his jail cell.

Simpson reportedly has a tv in his cell. "If you have the money, you can buy a TV at the inmate store and put it in your cell," said Simpson's friend, Norman Pardo, to the NY Post, "There was no shortage of potential guests because he's so popular. He's like the Godfather of the prison now."

Simpson was a Buffalo Bills star running back. In the highly publicized 1995 murder trial against him, he was found not guilty for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. In 1997 a civil court awarded $33.5 million against Simpson for the victim's wrongful deaths.

Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in 2008. During his trial he said, "I didn't want to steal anything from anyone. ... I'm sorry, sorry," reported The Huffington Post.

Simpson stormed a Las Vegas Hotel room on Sept. 13, 2007 and at least one gun was drawn. He said he was just trying to retrieve sports memorabilia and mementos from his past including his first wife's wedding ring.

"Simpson could serve up to 33 years but could be eligible for parole after nine years, according to Elana Roberto, the judge's clerk," reported The Huffington Post at the time of the trial.

Judge Jackie Glass said that the verdict had nothing to do with the Simpson's murder trial in 1995 in which he was acquitted. "I'm not here to try and cause any retribution or any payback for anything else," Glass said according to The Huffington Post.

Roald Goldman's father, Fred Goldman said according to The Huffington Post, "We are thrilled, and it's a bittersweet moment. It was satisfying seeing him in shackles like he belongs."
