UK TV show "This Morning" has shown the photos of pregnant Kate Middleton in a bikini by mistake to millions of viewers. The Mirror reported that presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford were reviewing the headlines of the morning when they flashed the front cover of Italian tabloid, Chi Magazine who have published the photos of pregnant Kate in a bikini during her vacation to the Caribbean island of Mustique with Prince William and her family.
This Morning, flashed the magazine on their screen and did not black out any images, allowing millions of vieweres to see the photos of the Duchess on her private getaway. Other publications such as The Mirror in the UK have censored the image to protect the royal's privacy.
The Mirror reported that TV regulator Ofcom received 415 complaints about the image and they have launched an investigation into it. Chi is the first magazine to publish the photos taken of her in Mustique. Chi magazine notoriously published topless photos of Kate Middleton this past fall in Chateau D'Autet in southern France which caused widespread controversy and anger over the royal and her family's privacy. In 2006, Chi also published photos of dying Princess Diana which was taken by one of the paparazzi who was pursuing her before her crash in 1997.
The photos include an image of her wearing a blue bikini showing a slight baby bump walking through the ocean in knee-height water and then a second image shows Prince William wearing a pair of shorts and his arm around Kate, walking along the beach.
The Mirror reported that the photos of bikini-clad pregnant Kate could get £250,000 for them. It is not clear whether or not the photographer was on the island. Other photos show Kate's sister Pippa also in a bikini.
They are reportedly staying at a gorgeous luxury villa on the island that costs £19,000-a-week, reported The Daily Mail. The villa is reportedly a a £5million, five-bedroom mansion.
"We are disappointed that photographs of the Duke and Duchess on a private holiday look likely to be published overseas," a spokesman of St James's Palace said to The Daily Mail.
Kate is on vacation with her family, including sister Pippa and parents Carole and Michael.
Paparazzi aren't allowed on the island since it is a private island making it a popular spot for celebrities such as David Bowie, Mick Jagger and Amy Winehouse who have all frequented the island in the past.
Mustique is one of the most luxurious vacation spots in the world. In the 1960s Lord Glenconner gave the Queen's sister, Princess Margaret, a 10 acre area of land as a wedding present, which was the island.
"Princess Margaret commissioned theatrical designer, Oliver Messel, to build her a villa, Les Jolies Eaux. She adored Mustique because it was somewhere she could let her hair down away from prying eyes and public scrutiny," reported The Daily Mail.
In 1989 the island became a private limited company, The Mustique Company, with only about 100 home owners as shareholders on the island.
