TripAdvisor Now Lets You Order Food While Traveling

The world's largest travel site, TripAdvisor, has added another feature to make their customers' lives easier. With the partnership of GrubHub, anyone can now order food in 1,100 cities in the U.S.

According to Bostinno, customers just have to browse the restaurant listings included on the site or app and click the "Order Online" button. You will then be redirected to Grubhub's mobile or online platform, where your order will be taken care of.

This latest move of TripAdvisor in the restaurant industry shows that the travel site's eagerness to expand its influence in other sectors of the travel industry. Other partnerships of TripAdvisor with restaurant-based companies include its partnership with restaurant-reservation service "OpenTable", and its investment with dining startup "EatWith", the Airbnb for food.

In a statement through Travel Pulse, TripAdvisor Restaurants' Senior Vice President Bertrand Jelensperger said: "With more than 4.2 million restaurant listings currently on TripAdvisor, we have evolved into a global leader in helping travelers and locals find or reserve a table at the perfect restaurant. Through our new agreement with GrubHub, we're demonstrating another example of how TripAdvisor has become the site for anyone looking to find their perfect meal, now providing consumers with access to food delivery from tens of thousands of restaurants."

But TripAdvisor doesn't stop there. The Massachusetts-based company has also signed several partnerships with big hotel groups for the purpose of TripAdvisor's Instant Booking platform. Some of the hotel groups TripAdvisor has signed up with include Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, which said it operates more than 1,270 properties in 100 countries; and the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG.)

Recent surveys have shown that more and more travelers are opting for restaurant take-outs from their hotel rooms, based on data gathered by GrubHub itself. GrubHub is an online and mobile food ordering company that lets customers order delivery take outs from several local restaurants in the U.S.
